Tata Safari – IBCD
» The Tata Motors launched the Tata Safari sport utility vehicle (SUV) in India in 1998 and it is the first ever manufactured SUV in India. The initial release has got 2.0 liter turbo I4 Diesel engine and it belongs to a class of mid-size SUV. Later on many improvements have been done and many versions has been launched in it. The Tata Safari is well known for its captivating look that grabs the user attention. The Tata Safari comes with 1 transmission and 2 versions: The Tata Safari 4A—2 LX DICOR BS-IV and the Tata Safari 4A—2 EX DICOR BS-IV and it recently come up with a new variant Safari GX that stands below the Safari VX.
The initial release has come with Turbo Diesel form in 1998, which is the first generation in the Safari and later some variants in it has shown up, but the second generation of it has been started with the launch of Safari Storme on 17 October 2012. A new face lifted version of Safari STORME has launched in the year 2015, which has been given changes in the interior as well as the exterior also. The Tata Safari comes with the tagline Reclaim your life.

Look & Feel
» The Tata Safari absorbs all the bumps without any fuss to the passengers. The power delivery is extremely linear and smooth. It has been given indicators into the side way mirrors, which adds more beauty at night time. The rear end is also more appealing in look. It is very comfortable in the inside for the passengers to get seated in the seats, which are really cushiony and very supportive. The high set seats with along with the huge glass area up ahead gives you a commanding view of the road ahead. You may not find very luxurious interior in it but it is quite good inside. It offers very smooth drive to the passengers who are travelling long distances that don’t get them strained or too much tired. It comes with a ground clearance of 205 mm, which is very good to have on Indian roads. The front side is provided with independent double wishbone with torsion bar and the rear with 5 link suspension with coil springs. It has power steering and it offers a turning radius of 6 meters.
Engine
» The Tata Safari comes with the 2.2 liter Dicorturbo diesel I4. The Tata Safari comes with 2179 cc performance and with a mileage of 13.93 kilometers per liter. The engine has a power of about 140 PS (103 kW) at 4000 rpm and a torque output of 320 N. The gearbox is very easy to operate. A top speed of 180 kmph (112 mph) is provided.
Space
» The Tata Safari has a very large boot space of 981 liters when the jump seats are folded and can carry heavy luggage in it. It is more convenient for the travellers to go with this car as they can carry a lot of stuff in it. At the back side the head room provided is very impressive and the leg room provided is adequate, where there is enough space for you to stretch your feet. You can feel much comfort in this car as it is a big one with a very good seating. It offers a 7 seated arrangement considering the jump seats at the rear end and offers very spacious interior. The front side is provided with disc brakes and the rear with the drum brakes.
